I created the beautiful and unique pendant by carefully placing a combination of clear and hand painted glass onto a hand cut rectangle of clear glass and firing the piece to extreme temperatures in my small kiln. The pale blue covered the whole of the rectangle and the overlaid darker colour was placed piece by piece over it to form a 'frame'. Before trasfering the piece into the kiln I placed a rectangle of clear glass on top which gives the pendant a beautifully smooth tactile surface. A sterling silver bail allows the pendant to be worn as a necklace, in this case one of silver coloured leather, or your favourite chain. The leather necklace measures about 50cm from end to end, including the sterling silver fastening and the glass pendant is about 48cm tall and about 35cm wide. Due to the high temperatures reached during the process, this pendant is unique in design as the glass will form its own patterns as it flows.
