Full description
One of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images. The Curious Creatures were inspired by the shapes the groynes on Bracklesham, and East and West Wittering beaches had been transformed into by the action of the waves and the tides.
For those who don't know, groynes are wooden structures placed on a beach to prevent beach erosion. Over the years, the groynes are sculpted and transformed by the action of the waves and the wind into wonderful shapes and in those shapes we began to see all sorts of creatures. The stones and pebbles that become lodged in the wood, provide all sorts of detail such as eyes, teeth and more.
Add in some background illustration and graphics and a Curious Creature is brought to life. In this groyne, one of the things we thought of was a bird's beak and eye, hence our Ibis.
The image has been printed onto photographic paper which is added to the design.
Choose between a black, white or wood frame.
The frame size is 230mm x 230mm x 20mm, and can be wall-hung or can stand alone.
The item will be sent, boxed, via Royal Mail 2-3 day, tracked service.
