Full description
A greetings card based on one of our 'Curious Creatures of Bracklesham Bay' series of images, on card and photogrphic paper. The images were inspired by seeing the shapes of the groynes on Bracklesham and Wittering beaches, that had been carved and transformed over many years by the effect on them of the waves and the tides.
Groynes, for those who don't know, are wooden structures installed on a beach to prevent beach erosion caused by those waves and tides. It is precisely these actions which over many years act on the groynes, rather than the beach, and shape them into smooth and organic-looking shapes.
With stones and pebbles becoming lodged into crevices in the wood, and the metal bolts from the original construction of the groyne, adding details such as eyes and teeth, we only needed to add our own graphics to create a Curious Creature.
The photo of the groyne is printed onto photographic paper and added to the design on the card. The original photo of the groyne is on the back of the card.
The card size is 135mm, and and it will be sent by second-class post.
