Regency Lady Card Jane Aust...
Vintage Revival£5.00
Next Craft fair 18/7/2027 at Hymers Sports field in Hull with 'A Little Pot of Yarn' Crochet creations by Rachel.
My shop will look a little empty for a week or so before a restock and I will be closed for orders from the 17th -20th July. Thanks for looking!
Drawing inspiration from vintage sewing patterns, mid-century design, Regency novels and nostalgic yearnings, I create things that remind us we can live an analogue life: one with a favourite book, a cup of tea and a cosy corner. An analogue life in which getting dressed up to go out dancing without filming it for social media is more fun. An analogue life in which it is an acceptable use of time to sit and watch that old black and white film whilst creating something by hand. I love creating items that will hopefully become a beloved piece and be passed down as a family heirloom using reclaimed, new, oeko-tex and organic fabrics and accessories in the most sustainable way possible.
I do hope you find something to love in my shop, thank you for visiting and if you have any questions about my makes, please message me!
I am selling my acrylic yarn stash, as although I personally don't want to use these fibres anymore, I know that many people do, to create beautiful, useful items that will have a long and happy life.

Welcome to Jinkies Vintage Revival where hopefully you will find something for your nostalgic yearnings.
I'm Jane, and from not wanting to stitch on a button when I was younger to making myself a complete Regency outfit for dancing as an adult, my crafting journey has been long and adventurous! Over the years I have dabbled in many (many, many!) crafts, finally finding my niche in Sewing, crochet, embroidery and papercrafts.
I love mid-century design, children's books, homewares and fashions of the 40s to the 70's, which compels me to create items that remind me of a time when analogue living wasn't a fashionable concept, it was just life.
Being a big reader I am always in need of a bookmark and so these have become something I make with lots of joy, some using cross stitch, some sewn with pretty fabrics and some stuffed full of lavender! I am also a 'drink tea poured from the teapot' kind of girl, so coasters and placemats are a necessity in our house. I love rockabilly and rock and roll, and love to bop, which fed the longings of wanting to make unique handbags from old records, and hair bands to keep the hair from the face when dancing.
I'm also a huge fan of Jane Austen novels and Regency dancing which inspires my enjoyment of embroidery and things lacy and doily like. As you can tell I am very eclectic!
I play Legend of Zelda games in holiday times and watch history documentaries and black and white films whilst crafting. I also play music (piano, ukulele, penny whistle, -amateurly) write stories and poems, some of which are available here...

in collaboration with Flagfarm, with his music and concepts shaping and inspiring my ideas.)
In the future I would like to incorporate some of my poetry into my makes...
I sell on Folksy and Etsy, and at various craft fairs (with my best friend Rachel -A Little Pot Of Yarn) because it gives me chance share my creations with people who love things that give them a spark of joy, kindles a memory - a hint of recognition, or evokes a feeling of nostalgia.
Hopefully what you choose to buy becomes a family heirloom; a treasured possession with meaning for yourself or a loved one.
And so, powered by earl-grey and Mansfield Park or gin and The Stray Cats, I make and create with fabric, yarn and paper in my craft room in East Yorkshire. Always with the intention of making something to be treasured for many years, using knowledge passed to me from my Mam, mother in law, and my own trial and error way of doing!
My workspace and home is smoke/vape and pet free and is kept as clean and tidy as possible, though it can get rather messy when I have multiple projects on the go!
I also always endeavour to work as sustainably and earth friendly as possible, using non-toxic glues, oeko-tex and organic fabrics whenever possibly and re-using vintage haberdashery. If we all do a little bit for the planet, those little bits will add up to something bigger.
Cross stitch designs, patterns and kits are for non-commercial use only.
If you have any questions please just ask.
Thank you for visiting and taking the time to read about my creating. Happy shopping!

2 lovely little bags, well made using beautiful retro designs. It's great too that both bags feature a design on each side. Many makers seem to only put a design on one side on a bag, cushion etc. and leave the other side plain, which I think is a shame. I would happily pay more for 2-sided design, always!
