About this item
This artwork is a collage of a beautiful Swallowtail butterfly which is now extremely rare in Britain and only exists in the wetlands and fens of the Norfolk Broads. It is the largest of our native butterflies.Another butterfly liberated from a victorian text book having been copied from an original plate. It has been collaged onto white board which has been stencilled with gold paste to emphasise its colour and majesty. It flies towards an exotic red flower created from a mix of leaves and buds which picks up the red on the butterfly's wingsThis artwork is unique and conveys my love for these magical creatures and the diversity of the natural world. This picture would enhance any home and would make a thoughtful gift for a nature enthusiast. Two or more grouped together would make a stunning display of colour and interest. The board is framed with a card mount but is not attached as this provides a choice of framing- you have endless choices for colours for mountboards and sizes. The artwork measures 20 x 20 cms and will be presented in a clear protective sleeve.
