I love sunset imagery and creating pictures from handmade materials. And because I can’t draw I love a touch of whimsy!

Full description

I love this piece…. And the story behind it. The sky is a photograph I took at my old house looking over fields which I then printed onto some sparkly fibre filled paper. I’ve left the tree outline showing behind the hills. The title stems from the little blob close to the sun… in my eagerness to finish the piece I dropped a tiny blob of water from my paint brush which produced a lovely bloom close to the sun! I then used hand painted fabrics to create rolling hills… some are just painted and some have text delicately stamped to them. The final step was to add free motion wiggles and then some strategically placed machine embroidery stitches. The piece is then mounted using a double antique white mount with an aperture size of 13cm. The frame is white wood and measures 28.5cm. The perfect gift for nature lovers and textile art enthusiasts.
