Full description
Handturned from a beautiful piece of natural Oak, this unique bowl celebrates the character and story within the timber.
The bowl features natural cracks and splits which have been carefully filled with contrasting black fill which follows the natural lines of the wood, creating a striking feature against the warm tones and grain of the Oak.
Rather than hiding the imperfections, I've used them to become part of the design, giving the bowl its own individual character. No two pieces of timber are ever the same, making this a genuinely one-of-a-kind piece.
Handturned on the lathe in my small Lancashire workshop, the bowl has been carefully sanded and finished to a smooth feel, with a finish that enhances the natural beauty of the Oak.
Perfect as a decorative bowl, centrepiece or for displaying small dry items around the home.
