About this item
The Threshold Moth is a Shrine for Transformation. She dwells at the edge of endings and beginnings, honouring elderhood, wisdom, legacy and the mysteries that lie beyond what we can fully know. She reminds us that transformation is not loss, but continuation; that stories are handed on, love changes form and every threshold crossed becomes the beginning of another journey. Part artwork, part keepsake and part companion, this one-of-a-kind textile shrine opens to reveal a hidden sanctuary containing an embroidered dandelion seed head nestled within a soft felt-lined chamber. Handmade in my Leicestershire garden studio, each Curious Shrine is created slowly using painted and dyed fabric, hand embroidery, decorative stitching, felt, glass gems, mirrors and mixed media embellishments. No two shrines will ever be exactly alike. The moth symbolises transformation, intuition and trust in unseen paths. The dandelion represents wishes, resilience, release and the continuation of stories beyond ourselves. The radiant sun-like halo speaks of illumination, memory and carrying our light forward. Opening the shrine becomes a small act of pause and reflection, inviting us to honour the beauty of change and the wisdom gathered through living. Curious Shrines are inspired by folklore, the turning year and the changing seasons of a woman's life. They are intended as small stitched sanctuaries, offering a place for story, reflection and everyday magic. Approximate size: 20-22 cm high, 13-15 cm wide and 3 cm deep. Your shrine will arrive wrapped in tissue paper within a sturdy kraft presentation box and includes a printed story card and artist information card. Price includes tracked UK postage. Designed and handmade by Leah Mason. Ena Green Designs www.enagreen.com
