About this item
A bookmark in the shape of a shark's head. Cut from a 1917 vintage silverplated stainless steel Adam pattern fish knife. This version is the complete knife, folded over. Despatched wrapped in tissue paper in an organza bag via the Royal Mail standard service in the UK. I use silver plate cutlery for 3 reasons. Firstly it is cheaper and easier to come by than the sterling silver. Secondly, it might need to be sent to the Assay Office again. So, more expensive to buy in the first place and then more to be hallmarked. Finally, there is likely to be minor imperfections in the finish, after all, if they've been used for the purpose they were made for, then they will have! So overall, if you are buying an upcycled secondhand piece of cutlery, the cost of a sterling silver version might well feel prohibitive. Upcycled in Lancashire

Upcycled in Lancashire
All my jewellery listed here is sterling silver except for the silver plated upcycled cutlery collection.
