Description

Each dainty earring features a 6mm Larvikite bead topped with a 6mm Peridot teardrop and 2.25mm faceted Black Spinel cube, separated with tiny 1.8mm sterling silver spacers. The Larvikite beads are mottled light and dark grey, with a flash of silvery-blue labradorescence, the translucent Peridot drops are a light apple green and the Spinel cubes are jet-black and sparkly. Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these would make a lovely gift for a birthday, anniversary, best friend - or as a treat for yourself. Especially suited for an August birthday as Peridot and Spinel are the birthstone for August and Leo. These lightweight earrings measure approximately 1 inch (2.5cm). Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag. Price includes delivery within mainland UK.

Both Peridot and Black Spinel are traditional birthstones for August and Leo. Peridot is the transparent form of the mineral Olivine, and was mined by the ancient Egyptians, who called it 'the gem of the sun'. These translucent teardrop beads have a vibrant apple-green hue. Black Spinel is very durable and has high reflectance, meaning these beautifully cut AAA grade cube beads have lots of sparkle and shine. Larvikite is named after the town of Larvik in southern Norway, and is also known as 'black moonstone' or 'Larvik Labradorite'. The colour varies from light grey to very dark grey, with flashes of silvery-blue iridescence from the presence of feldspar crystals. It is the national stone of Norway.
