About this item
Heavily embossed with lace and "found" items, highlighted with a cobalt wash which is then wiped back to accentuate the textures, and finally finished off in the kiln with shards of glass that melt and spread out to form a blue, glossy pool like water. The attention to detail doesn't stop there either… I give it just as much loving care underneath too as you can see from the photo! Approx. 8.5cm diameter

Creating surface textures in clay is absolutely my favourite thing to do. I can no longer look at an everyday object without wondering if it would make a nice pattern pressed into clay! Here for example I’ve used lace, a drawer knob, cake icing equipment, an ornamental key and an old hot water bottle amongst other things. I can’t even describe how satisfying it is to then flood it all with a cobalt wash and see the patterns pop.

This is the third cane topper I've bought from Steph - I'm so pleased with it. Love all the details - the steps, little flowers and the house and tree on the top are brilliant. The little bee just makes me smile every time I look at it. It's so cheerful! Thanks Steph.
We really love our cats. Steph was really helpful and generous with her help when we had a difficulty. Will definitely be shopping again from her.
