Inspired by the empty venues and social isolation of the pandemic. This hand embroidered abstract collage depicts a single dancer caught in the beams of a super trouper. It's a vague almost ghostly figure. It is mounted in a 34x 34 cm frame. I have used a mix of hand dyed, vintage and repurposed fabrics to capture the feel of an empty and crumbling theatre. The traditional hand embroidery stitched are used freely and expressively to give movement and emotion.

Hi, welcome to Stitched Works, where everything is designed and hand made made by myself. (Except for the buttons) I strive to create high quality pieces using repurposed and vintage fabrics. My inspiration usually comes from a place, where I’ve felt an emotional connection. I think of my art as capturing a sense of time and place, a small moment in time. The cords and fastenings used for the pendants and brooches are new. I will usually post items 2nd class, with Royal Mail, within 24 hours of receiving an order. I recycle packaging when possible. You can cancel the order and get a refund from the maker within 14 days of receipt, provided the item has not been used. Faulty items can be returned within six months of payment being made.

I made this as a result of all the Covid lockdowns. In memory if all the empty theatres and venues and lack of social contact during the long periods of isolation.
