Thank you for popping into my shop! I’m a retired Graphic Designer, but thankfully I haven’t retired from being creative. I still love the process of making things, experimenting with colour, pattern and texture, and giving new life to all sorts of materials.
You’ll find a colourful and eclectic mix of handmade pieces in my shop, with birds and flowers featuring strongly throughout. I particularly enjoy combining unexpected materials, patterns and colours to create unique mixed-media pieces — so there’s always something a little different to discover.
I’m also a big believer in happy postage! If you find more than one item you’d like, I ALWAYS combine postage and refund any excess. I know it can be a little alarming to see the postage total increase as you add items to your basket, but please don’t worry. I’ll package your purchases together and refund the excess postage on the same day your order is dispatched.

Full description
A unique, hand stitched textile artwork for nature lovers, inspired by hedgerows and the plants and animals that are found there.
The background is made from a range of batiks, chosen to convey the hedgerow through the changing seasons. A blue tit perches on bare branches and is surrounded by a cluster of primroses, stems of tall cow parsley, brambles with ripe berries, and an orange tip butterfly.
I've used embroidery thread for the stems and to add a bit of texture to the blue tit and butterfly. The glossy blackberries have been created with seed beads and a mixture of beads and french knots have been used for the flower heads on the cow parsley. Shade and detail has been added to the bramble leaves with acrylic paint.
The artwork is presented in a shadow box frame with glass at the front. The frame is approx. 3cm deep, the outer measurement is 32cm and the visible area 20cm.
The image of the framed artwork has been photographed without the glass to reduce glare.
