Lino Print and Monoprint. One of a varied edition of 12 hand prints depicting a sea turtle, and composed of a number of elements. The circle is a monoprint using lavender stems, the sea turtle is a lino print. The work is mounted on lovely handmade khadi paper. Measuring approximately 21 x 21 cms, including backing board. It is cello wrapped for protection. It is signed, titled and has the varied edition number in pencil at the bottom, as seen in the photograph. Made the monoprint circles and waited for the right image to appear to use them. I was thinking about turtles and their environments, sea and land, and how endangered they are. I felt drawn to create an image of a turtle swimming amongst sea grass and how we need to protect our precious earth and oceans.
