This item is included in the Summer Seconds, simply to make space for new stock. Tee shirt yarn can be bought new or can be made by cutting an unloved tee shirt into one, continuous strip. The resulting product is ideal for the plaiting and knotting techniques used in macrame. At Wonky Towers, we love to upcycle and our preference is to avoid buying new to avoid waste. This plant holder has been made using the tee shirt yarn formed from an unloved white tee shirt, combined with a 'surplus to requirement' wooden curtain ring. Macrame knotting techniques have been used, creating flat and spiral knots. The photos help to show some of the details. This plant holder measures approximately 70cm from the ring to the end of the fringe when lying flat. As this tee shirt yarn is a little stretchy it will be longer than 70cm when holding the weight of a plant and pot. It is a very attractive way to display a house plant, particularly one that trails. NB. Plant and pot are not included.
