A flock of birds soaring high are viewed through pretty delicate blue branches on this contemporary fine bone china mug. Inspired by a desire to capture our familiar day to day encounters with nature in a creative and unique way. A single bird in flight is depicted on the inside of the mug. The original designs for these fine bone china mugs were created using the old photographic process of Cyanotype in which the solution used reacts with sunlight to produces distinctive blue tones. Taking inspiration from the strong British tradition of blue & white ceramics, Sarah realised her delicate blue & white cyanotype designs naturally lent themselves to being applied to pottery. Sarah is now delighted to bring you her unique collection of fine bone china that hopes to bring a little of our wonder in the intricacies of nature into our homes. Featuring 'The Way to Blue' logo on the base. Gift box with 'The Way to Blue' gift tag available in separate listing. Dishwasher & Microwave safe. Taking inspiration from the strong British tradition of blue & white ceramics, a couple of years ago I started producing a unique collection of fine china mugs based on my Cyanotype designs. My delicate blue and white Cyanotype designs naturally lend themselves to being applied to pottery and have proved very popular. They are hand decorated and fired by a small family run company in Staffordshire, hopefully helping to keep the centuries old tradition alive in the Potteries.
