My inspiration for making this Brooch was to try and capture the delicate features of the Flower, while being durable to everyday wear and tear. I love intricate detail and as with all my Designs I wanted to create a " one off " piece of Artwork. Poppies are brightly coloured flowers found in the wild or in cottage gardens. They flower early summer and grow to a height of about 18-24 inches. There are many different varieties of Poppy, but the most popular are the Corn Poppy, Field Poppy and the Flanders Poppy. They have been used through History as a symbol of sleep, peace & death. They have become the symbol of Soldiers who have died during War Time and worn on Remembrance Day, to commemorate them. The White Poppy is a symbol of PEACE. This unique piece of Artwork, is a beautiful feminine Brooch, that would make the owner stand out in a crowd. It would make a Unique Gift for any Woman, to mark any occasion or celebration and will perhaps become an Antique of the Future....

It fires a lot stronger than Porcelain, so intricate and fine detail can be used without it becoming too fragile! It also fires very light....... so size is not restricted to a small sculpture aqnd large Designs can be produced ! Exquisite, realistic detail, beautifully painted. NOTE- this brooch looks stunning on black or even Red ! Silver Gilt Brooch Back- Bar. With locking clasp. Approximate size 4.5 cm (1 3/4 inches) across and 3.5 cm (1 1/2 inches) down.
