Full description
A study of a sprig of berberis leaves and berries. I drew this from a photograph I took during an autumn walk in a local park. I produced this picture using high quality colour pencils from the ranges of Caran d'Ache Pablos and Faber Castell Polychromos. A great many professional artists consider these to be the Rolls Royce of colour pencils and are great favourites of mine.
Paying great attention to botanical details, I very carefully laid the colours down in several very thin layers to achieve depth of colour and a realistic image. I hope that I have managed to do this.
