When I saw some conkers scattered over the ground among the fallen autumn leaves in a local woodland, I couldn't resist picking up a few and taking them home to draw.

Full description
A drawing in colour pencil of a group of conkers.
I produced this picture using high quality colour pencils in the range of Cara d'Ache Pablos and Faber Castell Polychromos. Many professional artists consider these to be the Rolls Royce of colour pencils, so are great favourites of mine. I worked on this picture for well over a week spending hours each day at my drawing board. Giving great attention to detail, I laid the colours down in many layers with the intention of creating a realistic image. I hope that I have managed to achieve this.
