SILENT GESTURE is an original and unique piece of coastal art, created from naturally sea-weathered driftwood giving it wonderful texture and character.
Looking at the sculpture at different times can generate conflicting views and feelings. It may feel like an act of surrender, a call for calm, or it can portray arms wide open to welcome a lover.
This highly individual driftwood sculpture mounted on a smooth stone base, has been lovingly handmade and individually crafted by Steve Hutchins of Grove House Art.
Collected from the beaches of South Devon, the driftwood and stone have been carefully cleaned, air-dried and assembled by hand by Steve Hutchins of Grove House Art, preserving their natural beauty without altering their unique organic form.
Living in beautiful South Devon, I spend many hours walking our local beaches, inspired by nature and the sound, movement and immense energy of the sea.
Each carefully chosen piece of rescued driftwood is transformed into a unique work of natural art, allowing its beauty to be appreciated for many years to come.
