This upcycled solid wood vintage sideboard has full depth cupboards at each end with 2 drawers in the centre and, above them, a space with 2 small sliding glass doors.

The sideboard features 4 ball and claw feet. These unusual elements provided the inspiration for a big cat and tropical vegetation theme. I found wallpaper and wrapping paper with exotic patterns and repurposed them to decorate the sideboard. I used a tiger and exotic vegetation wallpaper to cover the table top and a palm leaf design wrapping paper to cover the two cupboard doors.

I have used durable furniture paint from Small & Co's signature range to give a hard wearing matte finish to the external surfaces.

The insides of the cupboards and drawers have been painted with a light brown satin wood varnish. The different woods used to make this sideboard, and how they were previously treated, results in a colour variation that adds interest to those internal spaces.

The beautiful original brass handles, knobs and hinge embellishments also add character to the piece.
