Full description
This unique floor lamp uses recycled pallet wood and sea shells to create a statement piece suitable for any living space in your home. The section of wooden pallet used for this floor lamp comes from an EPAL pallet that was Heat Treated to eliminate parasites and insects without the use of harmful chemicals.
The wood has imperfections as a result of how the pallet was handled when it was used for shipping goods. These imperfections have been used to add interest to the piece.
Two faces of the floor lamp have been decorated with gold crackle decoupage paper and prints of vintage shell illustrations.
Three sea shells collected from the beach at Hythe on the Kent Coast are suspended between the horizontal timbers of the pallet section.
The top of the lamp has an antique brass E27 lampholder. A rechargeable E27 LED light bulb is supplied with this lamp meaning that no fixed wiring is required.
The 3V, 8W rechargeable LED E27 light bulb can be easily removed from its magnetic attachment for recharging. The light bulb has a USB Type C connector for recharging.
Included with this floor lamp is a rectangular lampshade with rounded corners (25cm H, 40cm W and 20cm D, and weighing approx. 400g) made from eco velvet featuring my own unique common whelk shell design. The velvet is made from 100% recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (rPET).
The white PVC lining panel used to make the lampshade has been tested and passed the glow wire test carried out by the Lighting Industry Association Laboratory.
