I love to create things that have a vintage vibe, giftable things that will become a beloved piece and passed down as a family heirloom. Things that are pretty, spark memories and feel comforting. Ultimately, things that remind us that there is another way to live and escape this fast paced life: one with a favourite novel, a cup of tea and a cosy corner. Or, one that reminds you that dancing used to be a favourite thing, and watching an old black and white film or creating something by hand is an acceptable use of time.

I saw Ann Woods free cat pattern and thought that it would be ideal to make as a page saver. I loved the idea of having the soothing scent of lavender just drifting up whilst reading, and the rice added weight to give it a tactile and comforting feel.

Full description
This Van Gogh 'Wheat fields with Cyprus' fabric cat is filled with rice and organic lavender to offer soothing emotional support whilst you read. Just place on your shoulder or lap whilst sinking into the pages and breath in the delightful aroma of lavender from Provence, or hold, and listen to the soft whisper of rice and flowers.
Use to help keep a page open, save your page when you need a break or use as a cheeky bookmark and let the cute cat peep out from the pages, waiting for you to come back! These cats can also be used as handy paper weights, sit them on your random notes or pages from your novel to keep them safe!
NOT A TOY Keep out of reach of small children, possible choking hazard.
Check periodically for any damage and repair as necessary - if used correctly this should last many years and maybe even become your next family heirloom!
Protect from humidity, if it gets wet, they can be placed inside a laundry bag and tumble dried but may lose their scent quicker. I recommend air drying (on a radiator or in full sun) thoroughly before using again.
These sweet scented cats have been machine and hand stitched with love and care using various pre-washed (non-bio powder), cotton and poly-cotton fabrics, and new or pre-loved buttons.

Lavender aroma can last up to ten years, if you find yours has diminished after a few years they can be revived with one or two drops of lavender essential oil.
