Welcome to my Folksy shop, where I am based in Clevedon, a beautiful seaside town in North Somerset.
My name is Sarah, and I have loved making products from glass for several decades. I started my glass journey by attending a stained glass course in Bristol and my passion grew from there!
When I moved to Clevedon I attended a local course on glass fusing and immediately fell in love with the tactile nature of fused glass and the different effects heat can have on the appearance (and feel!) of the products.
Although I still ocassionaly make items using stained glass techniques, my real love is fused glass.
I now have a small studio in my house where I hand cut, shape and fuse together layers of glass at temperatures of up to 800C, with some items requiring several visits to the kiln.
I make a range of glass products, including my signature rainbows which I first made in 2020 during the Covid pandemic. At the time I was a nurse manager in a GP practice and made my team a rainbow each to signify hope and new beginnings when everyone was under such pressure in all walks of life.
I use Bullseye glass which comes in a fantastic array of colours, patterns and texture. Some of their glass changes colour in the kiln or may react with other colours to produce new hues and tints. The opening of the kiln after firing my pieces is always exciting!
