I paint with thread and fabric and fire

I have loved art since I could hold a crayon. These days I most enjoy freemotion machine embroidery - which I like to think of as thread painting - freemotion appliqué, hand embroidery, lino and mono printing, pyrography (painting with a hot 'pen' that burns in to wood), foil and tin embossing, painting and drawing. I don't often use crayons, but I do like pastels!

I am inspired by Nature, wildlife, pets and my home city of Bath. I have two black rescue cats and they find their way in to a lot of my work. I can lose hours watching the birds in my garden ad every day like to go out and about with my camera.
