Full description
This pretty bracelet is in Autumn colours of tawny, pale yellow and gold, featuring eight 11x4mm Amber nuggets separated by various Citrine beads highlighted with tiny 1.8mm gold vermeil spacers.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold.
The central stone is an 8x6mm Citrine nugget, with two 4mm round Citrine beads and two 3mm faceted Citrine beads to each side.
The bracelet fastens with a simple gold plated toggle claso.
Amber is the name for preserved resin from trees over 30 million years old.
It comes in various shades of yellow, orange and brown, is translucent, and frequently contains equally ancient inclusions.
It has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, but is a relatively soft substance and should be treated with care to avoid scratches.
Citrine is one of the birthstones for November and Scorpio.
Citrine is a transparent pale-yellow-to-orange-brown variety of Quartz.
The Citrine nuggets I have used here are natural Citrine, which tends to have a pale lemon hue - deeper yellow-to-orange Citrine is usually heat-treated Amethyst.
Citrine symbolises light-heartedness, joy and happiness.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, this would make a lovely birthday or anniversary present, thank you gift or a treat for yourself.
This bracelet measures approximately 7 inches (18cm).
