I’m Becky Long-Smith, an artist and printmaker based in York, creating original prints and handmade artwork inspired by the patterns, textures and processes of the natural world.

My practice brings together printmaking, collage, drawing and hand embroidery, with a particular fascination for natural forms that have been shaped slowly over time; from rocks and fossils to roots, lichen and other overlooked details of our surroundings.

I enjoy working slowly and experimentally, allowing layers of marks, materials and repeated processes to build up. Many of my pieces explore our relationship with nature and the traces we leave within it.

Alongside my artwork, I run creative workshops designed to give people the chance to slow down, experiment and make something of their own.

Everything in my shop is made or printed by me, in small quantities or as one-off original pieces.
