Full description
This is a lino print greetings card of the famous little statue of 'Greyfriars Bobby'. It is hand printed in small batches. I use an old spoon to transfer the ink.
The statue of Greyfriars Bobby in Candlemaker Row, Edinburgh is an iconic sight much visited and much loved. The story of the loyal Skye terrier who stayed by his masters grave for 14 years is well known and has been told in film and book many times. I photographed the statue about 25 years ago before his nose turned gold from being touched.
There are 2 formats available. A square card 144 x 144 mm (6 x 6 inches) and a rectangular card 11.8 x 17.4 mm (5 x 7 inches). All measurements are approximate.
Each card comes with a kraft envelope and are cellophane wrapped for protection.
The cards are printed on thick watercolour type papers or Fabriano Medioevalis deckle edged card blanks.
'Bobby' is printed in a blue grey colour. I use Cranfield Caligo Safe wash relief inks.
Free Royal Mail 2nd class post for UK cards.
USA and ROW cards will be sent by Royal Mail International Tracked post.
