Full description
A truly one-of-a-kind piece of handmade pottery, created by hand from individual slabs of stoneware clay.
This unusual ceramic vessel has been constructed in sections, with each slab carefully joined to create its tall, slightly architectural form. I have deliberately left plenty of the making process visible, including the joins, subtle irregularities and wonderfully tactile surface textures.
The outside is covered with layers of rich, earthy glaze which catch in all the little textured areas, creating a beautiful mix of warm russet, creamy white and soft brown tones. Every time you look at it you notice another little mark or variation in the surface.
I love making pieces like this because they aren't about perfect symmetry. They're about texture, character and the quiet beauty of something made slowly by hand.
The little loop handle at the top adds another unusual detail and gives the piece a lovely sculptural quality.
Dimensions:
Approx. 17cm tall
Approx. 13cm wide at the top
