Full description
This is an original lino print of some of the oldest buildings in my home town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch. I'm lucky enough to live in such a pretty, historic town and love regularly walking past and admiring the buildings around the area. The tractors from the annual tractor run through the town are a little fun addition in this piece!
The image was created by drawing onto and carving separate pieces of lino before putting them all together, hand rolling the ink onto the carved surface and pressing the paper on top to transfer the image. It is a fascinating, traditional and slow process and produces such beautiful prints, which may come out slightly different every time due to the pressure differences in the process or where the ink happens to sit. This makes every piece beautifully unique - there may be ever so slight variations from the photographed image.
This piece is also available in other colours - please check these out in my Folksy Shop.
All prints are titled and signed in pencil.
This piece, titled 'Ashby de la Zouch', was printed by hand on 300g Acid Free Paper, using Phthalo Blue Cranfield oil based relief ink. This is an open edition of prints and is of A3 size, so will fit in any A3 standard frame.
The paper measures 29.7cm x 42cm.
Please note, frame not included.
The print will be rolled in acid free tissue paper and packaged in a strong cardboard tube. If you live in the Ashby area, it may be packaged Flat with hard board for protection.
Thanks for looking and considering buying from an independent, handmade business.
