My bears are made using traditional artisan methods, which means that they contain small parts, such as old-fashioned cotter pin joints (made from wood and metal); pellets (for adding that comforting weight and squish); glass eyes (for the old bear 'boot button' look and twinkle); and some (such as the bunnies) have metal wire inside so I can shape ears, paws etc. All this attention to detail adds to the authentic feel of my bears, but does mean that they are not children's toys. They are collectable artist bears made for older children from age 14 years to over 100.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
This little bear is caught in a special moment, gazing at a butterfly that has landed on her cute little nose.
She is an artisan teddy bear hand made from windswept mohair and is filled woodwool which gives her a satisfying firmness and a slight old-fashioned 'scrunch' sound when handled. Her tummy is filled with pellets for a bit of added weight and squish.
She has her own pair of wings made from beaded lace - a beautifully unique bear.
The butterfly is handmade from silk and has lovely detail on it.
Mariposa's arms, legs and neck are all moveable, being fitted with traditional cotterpin joints. Her eyes are made from black glass which resemble the traditional boot button eyes, and her head is hand embroidered with a satin stitched nose and smile.
