Inspired by the natural beauty of laburnum wood, this bowl allows the timber itself to become the main feature. The dramatic dark figuring and flowing grain create an almost landscape-like pattern across the surface, making every section reveal something different.
The simple, rounded form has been deliberately kept understated so the exceptional character of the wood can take centre stage.

This beautiful handcrafted bowl has been turned from a single piece of laburnum wood, showcasing an incredible combination of rich golden-brown tones, dark natural figuring and flowing grain.
Measuring approximately 6 inches (15 cm) tall and 7 and a half inches (19 cm) wide, with a circumference of approximately 23 inches (58 cm), it has a substantial yet elegant presence.
The rounded profile and generous opening give the bowl a wonderfully tactile quality, while the highly figured laburnum grain makes this a truly individual piece. Each dark line, swirl and variation in colour is completely natural, meaning no two bowls could ever be the same.
Beautiful enough to display as a stand alone centrepiece, while also suitable for decorative or practical use, this is a distinctive example of handcrafted woodturning.
