Hi, a warm welcome to the Dragon Art Glass shop on Folksy. I'm Andrea, a full time glass addict (oops, artist!) living and working in the valleys of South Wales. I've had a little shop here on Folksy since about 2016, but can also often be found at local craft markets and in my studio in Senghenydd.
I always aim to send out orders as quickly as possible, (often within a day), but please be aware that I post only via Royal Mail.
To make things easier for you, I can gladly gift wrap any presents, add a hand-written note and send them directly to the recipient at no extra charge – just leave me a note and details when you checkout.

This upside down, pale blue teardrop shaped fused glass panel features a gorgeous dragonfly with shimmering fused dichroic glass wings and incorporates two tiny pure copper butterflies fused within the glass layers. It makes a magical focal point to wherever it is displayed.
Dichroic glass is a multi-layer coating placed on glass originally developed for NASA. It has a transmitted colour and a completely different reflective colour, the two colours shifting depending on the angle of view. This glass has a transmitted colour of purple and a subtle underlying reflected colour of purple, allowing the wings to shimmer.
The glass is hand cut, and kiln fired to perfection, ensuring vibrant colours that will never fade, and giving the impression of the dragonfly floating over a meadow.
To enhance the natural beauty of the glass, the panel is securely mounted withing a beautiful hand carved wooden frame that rests perfectly on a matching wooden stand making it a ready to display piece of tabletop art.
Whether placed in a bright, sunny spot. or displayed where artificial light can illuminate the glass, this piece offers a mesmerising play of colours.
