Full description
This handcrafted fibre artwork, Ijikijolo 4, is part of my Ijikijolo collection. Created from off-white cotton macramé cord, braided cotton yarn in berry and blush tones, soft taupe cord and carefully placed cowrie shells, it brings together gentle colour and natural texture in an original piece of fibre art.
The rich berry tones, paired with natural cotton, jute and soft neutral fibres, inspired the name Ijikijolo, the Zulu word for "berry". Layered concentric forms, handcrafted texture and cowrie shells come together to create one-of-a-kind fibre artwork that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Concentric circles of cotton cord are surrounded by a radiating fringe in soft blush, berry and off-white, creating movement and depth while maintaining a calm, balanced design. Carefully arranged cowrie shells guide the eye through the composition and provide natural texture that complements the layered fibres.
Each piece is individually designed and handcrafted only once. Once complete, the design is retired and will not be repeated, making it a truly one-of-a-kind piece of original fibre art.
Display it on its own as a focal point, combine it with other pieces in a gallery wall, or style it on a shelf, console or sideboard using a display stand.

Care: Gently vacuum using a soft brush attachment to remove dust. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and damp conditions.
