Welcome to my Folksy Shop. Most of my work is inspired by Nature and Seasons, with a whimsical touch. I create original textile art, hanging decorations, cards and gifts, using a combination of fabric applique, free motion machine embroidery, hand embroidery and paint.
A lot of my designs are carefully photographed and printed onto cards and bookmarks. make gifts and accessories using Free Motion and Hand Embroidery Techniques.

Hedgehog Slow Stitch Kit for Beginners
Ever wanted to try Slow Stitching or Hand Embroidery, but were unsure how and where to start?
This kit captures both cuteness and elegance of the hedgehog and floral wreathe, both of which were hand illustrated by myself and is perfect for both beginners to start their slow stitching journey or someone with a little experience who wishes to explore new techniques a little more.
Designed to ignite your own creativity, and encourage you to produce your very own unique piece without specific instructions, the kit includes a selection of good quality fabrics, embellishments, hand illustrated stick and stitch patches and a handmade by me, Needle Minder.
Would make the perfect kit to take on a wonderful Autumn retreat, take time for yourself and relax on an evening, or to gift to someone you know would love it.
What is Slow Stitch?
It simply is a mindful process, where you take a piece of fabric, needle and thread, then create simple marks with your thread on the fabric.
There are no instructions, you just trust the process and allow your mind to create. You therefore learn to listen to your inner sense of creativity and allow your hands to flow across the fabric.
What is Stick & Stitch?
Stick & Stitch, is a water soluble stabiliser, that can be stuck to your fabric and has a design printed onto it for you to embroider.
How to use this kit?
This kit is NOT a tutorial, therefore there are no instructions to follow. There is a Stitch Suggestion Guide, for which you can find tutorials online.
The Stick & Stitch patch is there to get you started with hand embroidery if you wish, but most importantly, have fun, relax and let your inner creativity produce something wonderful with the fabrics, threads and embellishments. You don't have to use everything in the kit, so feel free to squirrel what's left away into your craft/fabric stash.
Start where you want and just let your creativity flow.
