Hand Tufted Duafe Adinkra Textile Wall Art Jamaican Inspired A3 Mounted Fibre Artwork
This original hand-tufted textile artwork features the Duafe Adinkra symbol, originating from the Akan people of Ghana, West Africa. The Duafe, meaning wooden comb, symbolises beauty, femininity, care, love, cleanliness and nurturing qualities.
This contemporary interpretation has been created using colours inspired by the Jamaican flag vibrant green, gold and black celebrating both African heritage and Caribbean identity.
The artwork has been hand-tufted using acrylic yarn onto hessian backing cloth, with the fibres secured using latex adhesive for strength and durability. The finished textile artwork is mounted onto 9mm MDF board and includes D-ring hangers attached, ready to hang.
Each piece is individually handmade, creating a tactile and contemporary textile artwork that combines traditional African symbolism with modern fibre art practice.
