Full description
A hand carved wooden bird made from basswood and painted in layers of pastel pink, yellow and pearlescent colour.
I carved this bird by hand before sanding it smooth, painting it and finishing it with a clear wax. I love making simple sculptural objects that celebrate shape, colour and the character of the wood itself.
At approximately 10cm x 4cm, it's a small piece that can sit happily on a shelf, desk or windowsill and add a little colour to the room.
No moulds, no mass production, just a block of wood, hand tools and a lot of sanding.
