LAST ORDERS FOR EASTER - FRIDAY 27TH MARCH

TasWood is waking to birdsong, brighter skies, and the first rustle of spring. New treasures have arrived in the studio - each one hand-drawn, hand-printed, and rooted in quiet woodland magic.

The Easter Hare Collection is now live, hopping through the Forgotten Tracks Post Portal with a pocketful of seasonal stories. From Good Egg keepsakes to folklore-rich illustrations, these pieces are made for little explorers and lovers of springtime wonder.

Favouriting my shop is the best way to catch new arrivals, seasonal stories, and the moment fresh magic lands in TasWood.

Long before the modern Easter Bunny appeared, the tale belonged to the Easter Hare - a creature woven through centuries of spring folklore. German storytellers spoke of Oschter Haws, the magical hare who delivered bright eggs to well-behaved children, and Jacob Grimm (of Brothers Grimm) later linked this tradition to Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of dawn and renewal. I wanted to honour that older, wilder story in a soft, child-friendly way.

My illustration shows the Easter Hare in his favourite rocking chair, tea steaming beside him as he checks his Good and Bad Egg List, with a little leveret peeping in to add mischief and magic. Turning this artwork into a personalised mug felt like a lovely way to bring that gentle folklore into everyday moments - a warm drink shared with your own little Good Egg.

Full description

This personalised Easter Hare mug is inspired by the older springtime traditions of Oschter Haws - the egg-bringing hare of German folklore. Long before the modern Easter Bunny appeared, storytellers spoke of a magical hare who delivered bright eggs to well-behaved children. That’s why I’ve illustrated a hare, not a bunny: it’s the animal at the heart of the original Easter story.

Each mug is printed by me in my Norfolk studio and features my ink and watercolour illustration of the Easter Hare in his rocking chair, checking his Good and Bad Egg List with a steaming Polka Egg teapot beside him. Your chosen initial appears on the front; on the reverse, your name and the words “You’re A Good Egg!”. Placement of the hare may vary slightly depending on the initial to keep the best visual balance. A printed copy of my Tale of the Easter Hare poem is included.
