March Birthstone - Aquamarine
April Birthstones - Diamond and Quartz
Aquamarine, named from the Latin for seawater, is the pale blue-to-blue-green member of the beryl family.
In folklore it is linked to the sea, and sacred to the sea-god Neptune.
It was believed to calm the waves and bring protection and good luck to sailors and fishermen.
Aquamarine represented not only the sea, but also the heavens since the sky is reflected in the water. It was believed that this reflective property could reveal hidden aspects of reality and things deep within our souls. This made aquamarine a popular stone with healers, shamans and mystics.
Aquamarine is the birthstone for March and Pisces, and the stone for the 19th wedding anniversary.
Contains small parts, not suitable for children
Ear hoops are stamped '925' denoting sterling silver
