Full description
A small contemporary sculpture of forged steel with forge scale finish.
This was a prototype design using a repeating theme of crescents held in place with small steel wedges.
This work was inspired by my research into astronomy, astrolabes and archaeological earthworks. This style eventually lead up to my final sculptures on my degree in Artist Blacksmithing
Ideal position on a table, conservatory window sill or on garden pedestal in full sunlight which will cast interesting shadows over the passing of the day not unlike a sundial.
The surface is already forming a nice iron oxide patina this will gradually form all over particularly if exposed to weather
