If you are looking for something that gives you nostalgic feels, makes you want to curl up in a corner with a book and a cup of tea, or sparks a hint of recognition and brings joy, then you're in the right place!
I love to create things that have a vintage vibe; pretty things that can be gifted to a loved one or kept as a treat and passed down as a beloved family heirloom.
I do hope you find something to love in my shop, thank you for visiting and if you have any questions about my makes, please message me!
The next craft fair I will be attending with 'A Little Pot of Yarn' crochet creations by Rachel, is on Sunday May 10th in Hedon for the Create and Taste event.
I once saw a picture of a handbag made with records, and so, I tried various ways to create my own as I wanted to make one for my mums birthday. I succeeded, but thought there might be a better way to combine all the elements together, which didn't involve melting the LP at a precise angle! I found a way and loved it so much I made my mum another one and made some to sell too!
The records used for my bags are unloved or unplayable for one reason or another so may show marks or warping.
L.P's need protecting, don't leave next to a hot radiator for prolonged periods of time, or near a frosty window as vinyl can warp or become brittle in these conditions. Wipe clean with a soft dry or damp cloth or a wet wipe, dry carefully afterwards. Try not to get it too wet as water could soak into the cards and glues used and make the things in your bag soggy, or compromise the structure of the bag. If you get caught in a rain storm, pop it under your arm or shelter it with an umbrella.

Full description
Show off your unique style with this wonderful black and white, anchor print, rockabilly style, record handbag.
Reminiscent of the 50s/60s, the matt black oilcloth base is bedecked with white polka dots which match perfectly with the black and white anchor fabric. The top zip opens wide to allow easy access (and makes it easier to find things!) whilst the inside barriers stop those little bits and bobs we keep in the bottom of our bags from falling out. Measuring approximately 4" wide and at its deepest 5". It is 12" long, it's perfect for carrying all those necessary items we need when we go out dancing and the soft 14" (total length) handles are the perfect length to pop over your arm or carry by hand.
This handbag was created using an old, unloved L.P, new fabric and oilcloth, stitched and glued carefully together with a wonderful, 1950s Singer sewing machine, glued with crafter's pick, non toxic glues and finished with some hand-stitching. It also has card and a plastic handbag base insert.
The record and oilcloth base are easy to wipe clean using a soft cloth though I have put a scroll inside the bag with care instructions that will enable you to keep your bag in the best shape for years to come.
The keyring was also made by me using my die cutting machine for the black felt anchor which was then glued onto white felt and tied with a ribbon.
This bag is not a toy.
