I hand cast pewter to create jewellery and home decorations. Inspired by Nature, History and The Fantastic.

I am 25 years old and live and work in York. Profoundly Deaf and autistic but always artistic, I finally found my medium under Richard Reeves,the pewter tutor, at Freeman College in Sheffield.

My art allows me to express myself, something that is hard to do in conventional ways. I am constantly exploring different ways to use pewter and currently I am working on incorporating pewter into wooden objects such as bowls.

My creations can be from natural objects, such as shells or unique designs that I creates via 3D printing or wood carving. I hand cast in sand or wood. Pewter has a low melting point (270c) and the molten silver metal, once poured by hand, cools quickly; it’s fascinating to watch.

I only started this journey in September 2024 and it has been incredibly positive so far. The jewellery and Christmas decorations have sold really well. RAC Pewter is available on Folksy, online, via craft fairs local to York and in Fabrication - a shop for Yorkshire creators in York and Leeds city centres
