Bringing Vintage Style Decorations to Life Through the Magic of Spun Cotton

Hello! I’m Jessica, an American who’s lived in north west England, for almost 15 years, with my British husband, Dave. We currently reside in the beautiful village of Lymm, in Cheshire. I’m a spun cotton artist who experimented with this magical form of art in 2018 and instantly fell in love!

I’ve always had a big love for anything vintage and realised that with this technique I could bring to life (with my own spin) so many of the wonderfully kitschy decorations my own family decorated with for the holidays as I was growing up. Mid-century children’s book illustrations are also a big inspiration to me, since that’s what I grew up reading.

Since I’m a Gen-Xer who’s super nostalgic about the ‘70s/’80s, I plan to soon start a collection inspired by my memories of that time. I’m also currently leaning into both traditional and digital illustration to bring my ideas to life.

I hope my work brings you the same sense of joy and nostalgia I feel when I create!
