CONTEMPORARY PAINTING AND MIXED MEDIA ART

Hi, I am Robert. I have always been an artist but I did not always call myself one (I still find that hard). I have the YouTube Channel 'deadartstudios' where I film my process and discover and talk about art history. My favourite period of painting is the the modern era in the first half of the 20th century and my favourite painters would include Gustav Klimt, Mark Rothko and Joan Mitchell. I worked as a scientist and academic but now I am a full time parent to my wonderful daughter. When she goes to bed I paint. When she is at school and the chores are done I paint and film for YouTube. If you buy from me I promise you are getting a piece that I have poured emotion into, most of them in fact. I have found painting to be the most challenging and rewarding form of expression. Sometimes I flow, sometimes I rage and second guess. Sometimes it happens quickly and sometimes it goes in the bin. The possibilities of process are endless and that is both liberating and humbling. I want you to be able to hang something unique and beautiful in your home or space and I also want my art to be affordable and available to everyone. I hope you enjoy my shop and I can really recommend painting if you are thinking of giving it a go yourself!
