Welcome to DAdo Woodart & Crafts.

I have been making wood crafted items for over 8years and am constantly creating new products, styles and using different techniques. Producing a variety of items and designs in subjects that I am interested in and which compliment the natural style and feel of the wood. As an ex-aeronautical engineer, I have so far resisted any aircraft designs, apart from the occasional request, but it is only a matter of time before I do more.

So, why the name DAdo Woodart & crafts? After a while of self-taught woodworking I discovered that one of the first joins I used is called a dado (or housing) joint, which is a slot cut into the surface of a piece of wood across the grain. Coincidentally, two of my Nephews, when they were very young, called me Uncle Dado, instead of Uncle Dave. Now in their late teens/early 20s I’m still Uncle Dado, so the business name was obvious.

The wood used is from suppliers who source it from managed, sustainable FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®)-Certified forests, and meet the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) chain-of-custody standards that prove the timber was sourced from responsibly managed forests.
