About CraftedBuyUs

CraftedBuyUs

Creative crafter producing gorgeous handmade sewn and knit items from my craft room overlooking The River Clyde

Catherine here I am a maker based in Greenock, Scotland overlooking the majestic River Clyde. Prior to producing textile products I was a maths teacher (now retired) my previous occupation was an electrical engineer. Now I call myself a textile engineer.
Some of in inspiration for knitted hats comes from traditional designs and Fair Isle patterns. I source my wools from Scotland when possible. The colours match the views from my window, particularly touring stromy weather.
Ideas for my sewn items comes from Scottish Tweeds for some of my cushions and my pouches. Other designs come from using fabric remnants from quilts or clothes I’ve made. Another example is I use Sari remnants for my silk scrunchies. Further inspiration comes from unusual fabrics I pickup on my travels, one of my favourite shops is @clothcontrol in Brighton where I find vintage and quirky fabrics. I also use Scottish linen fabrics with animals and birds, Puffins being my favourite. I hope you find something you love as a gift or treat for yourself , as much as I’ve loved designing and making my products.
