Hello there and welcome to my online shop run by me, Hesta aka Mrs Bodkin, an artist and horticulturalist celebrating the seasons in Devon. I sell here and also wholesale to gallerys. My creativity comes from my parents and my love of nature, which I hope you can feel woven through all my work especially my floral oil paintings and prints follow the seasonal changes.
I am dyslexic and when I was at school it wasn't really recognised. I was left at the back with the nature table and a tin of paints. I left school and went on to study horticulture for many happy years, still always making, sewing and painting alongside. Now I make, paint, stitch and create using flowers from my small garden for inspiration from my home in Devon, which I share with Mr Bodkin, two teenagers we adopted as babies many years ago, who If I’m not working at home, you will find me at the allotment, painting or taking photographs. I work around my health and pain levels, so work is often in small batches. My larger work can be found in the two main devon galleries that represent my work. Thanks for stopping my x

I came across artist Hesta Springwood on Instagram and began to follow her for her uplifting posts. This print of the little red shoes spoke to me as my little sister had a pair of “little red shoes” as a toddler - so cute! That toddler is now 66 years old.
