About this item
This adorable kingfisher has been needle felted using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle which binds the fibres and shapes the sculpture. After creating the basic body using white core wool, a top layer in appropriate colours is added along with the wings. A beak made from air dry clay, black acrylic eyes and wired legs and feet are then fixed in position. Finally, the kingfisher is mounted on a needle felted perch fixed to a small wooden base disc. The kingfisher measures approximately 10 cm in length with the ornament as a whole measuring approximately 17cm tall. Please note: this is a collectable ornament. It is not intended as a toy.
