Textile Art, Embroidered Art, Mounted Wall Art - Cottage Garden

Cottage Garden is a piece of mounted textile art featuring a pretty floral landscape with a little cottage. The landscape has been made from layered pieces of carefully selected fabric, mostly co-ordinating floral and polka dot print fabrics in shades of pale green and white along with some pink. There are also some plain fabrics in shades of beige and cream. The fabrics either have selvedge edges or have been frayed to give added texture. The landscape has been embellished with lots of hand-embroidered flowers in the foreground and in front of the cottage. I've added a piece of cream crochet lace to act as a fence in front of the cottage. The sky is a piece of pale grey fabric with a woven pattern of wavy lines. The cottage and three trees are appliqué pieces which have been free-motion machine embroidered. I've hand embroidered some tiny pink roses around the cottage door. The artwork is mounted on a square acid-free backing board and finished with a white aperture mount, and is ready to be framed. It is presented in a cellophane sleeve for protection. This piece of unique and original textile art would add interest to any wall. It would make a lovely gift - perhaps for a gardener or as a new home gift.
