Full description
This Art is inspired by the concept of SPECTRAL EVIDENCE that came about because of the trial of Rose Cullender and Amy Denny, two elderly women accused and executed for witchcraft in Bury St Edmunds. The concept of spectral evidence travelled to Salem, Massachusetts and underpinned the dreadful persecution there. This is an assemblage made of gathered local natural materials that I used to commemorate those persecuted by this means. Their essence lingers in our subconsciance and they, until now, have not previously been widely recognised.
